Team USA Defeated Australia 98-92
Team USA defeated Australia 98-92 in an Olympic tuneup game on Monday in front of 12,217 fans at Etihad Arena, the largest crowd to ever watch a game in the venue.
The Boomers rallied back from a 24-point third-quarter deficit to go down by just six points with less than two minutes to play. However, Team USA hit their free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.
Anthony Davis led Team USA with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Damian Lillard added 16 points, while Jayson Tatum had 15 points.
Patty Mills led Australia with 22 points. Ben Simmons added 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Josh Giddey had 17 points.
Team USA will next face Spain on Wednesday in their final Olympic tuneup game.
